2021 Lincoln Aviator Configurations

The Lincoln Aviator is an impressive SUV that is great for the whole family or someone who needs plenty of cargo space. There are several configurations to choose from for drivers from Stroudsburg, Lehigh Valley, Nazareth, and Easton, PA.

To help you learn all about these configurations, Ray Price Lincoln has put together this configuration review. Learn all about the Lincoln Aviator engine options, drivetrains, and interior measurements.

Engine Options and Fuel Economy

The 2021 Lincoln Aviator has two powerful engines to choose from. The standard engine in the Lincoln Aviator is a Twin-Turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine that puts out an impressive 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.

To help you improve fuel economy with the Lincoln Aviator, Auto Start-Stop Technology comes standard. This technology turns off your engine when you are stopped, saving fuel, and it turns back on when you release the brake. With this combination of 3.0L engine and Auto Start-Stop Technology, you'll get an EPA-estimated 18 city/26 highway MPG.*

The other engine option for the Lincoln Aviator is a hybrid engine that's available on the Grand Touring Trim. The Twin-Turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine with Nano electric motor has plenty of power, even with its excellent fuel economy. It offers a whopping 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque.

Drivetrain and Performance

The Lincoln Aviator also has a few drivetrains to choose from. The SUV comes standard with rear-wheel drive; however, the Lincoln Aviator also has available all-wheel drive (AWD) if you prefer. AWD offers more traction on rough or slippery terrain.

Both engine options come with a 10-Speed SelectShift® Automatic transmission with paddle activation, including the hybrid engine, which has a hybrid version of this transmission.

In addition to this, the Lincoln Aviator has multiple drive modes. You can customize your drive, depending on your mood. For the Grand Touring trim, with the hybrid engine, you get two additional modes: Pure EV for an all-electric drive and Preserve EV to save energy.

Interior Measurements

A few interior size differences exist between the Lincoln Aviator Standard and Reserve trims vs. the Grand Touring trim. To give you an idea of how much space each configuration provides, we've included this section.

The headroom in the first row of all trims of the Lincoln Aviator is more than 40 inches, while the max headroom of the second row differs slightly, with the Standard and Reserve trims having 39.7 inches and the Grand Touring trim topping out at 38.4 inches.

The other interior passenger measurements stay roughly the same, with 43 inches of legroom in the front row and 39 inches of legroom in the second row.

When it comes to total passenger volume, the configurations differ again. In total, the Reserve and Standard trims have 144.7 cubic feet of passenger volume, while the Grand Touring trim offers 140.6 cubic feet of passenger volume.
